I'm 6'4" 36" inseam. Like any bike, for me, it's about making it "your" bike and IMO function over form. The stock windshield is useless on the hwy, I've replaced it with a Clearview 8"w/recurve (black, can't see thru it but I look over it anyway)works great; floorboard extentions (out and fwd) so the leg room is ok; stock seat really suked (IMO) and all I could get right away was a Tallboy from HD (was 1/2 way from NYC to Fl and couldn't take it anymore) moved me back although it sits too high for me but it's way better than stock. Left to do: change the bars and rework the stock seat to sit lower and then I'm sure it will be more than comfortable enough for those long road trip days. After that, it's time for the go fast stuff

I bought a Half Moon Wings dark smoked 8" for my Street Glide. It works 1000% better than the wind "deflector" that came on. All it did was "deflect" the wind right into your face!! I'm gonna buy another one only in light smoked. This one looks good but is kinda hard to see through at night. Check them out here: http://www.customflhtwindshields.net. And it REALLY does make your music sound better.

I thought you said you were tall? I'm 6-9 with a 40 in.inseem.I have an 05 EGC with the tallest sheild HD makes and cut an 1 1/2 off, after I had my stock seat reworked. I had a local shop take 3 in. out of the back of the seat and down 1 inch, and 1 1/2 out of the back rest .Also,I also installed Cyclesmith 13" apes.I now look just over the shield with very little buffing. Also added 5" swing out highway peg to strech out on the road, well kinda.I'd have to use the front axles to really stretch out. lol

40 inch inseam? you could have just sat on the passenger part and been fine with a set of pullbacks

6'6" with a 37" inseam. I put some accutronix forward controls and a C&C seat that is 2inches rearward and 1 inch down and I'm done. Most comfortable bike I have ever owned.

Thumbs up

Seeing lots of good advice from the guys here as to windshiels options. I bought an 8" "Ebay special" for twenty-somthing$$. I am 6' and its perfect. Please also consider the stationary or the adjustable wings for the sides of the ferring. There is a great deal of air coming through there and curving up into your chest and under your chin. When you want the air flow you just open them up. Def some of the best money I spent on the SG.
