Default sirius or xm

Just some basic questions here. first does the antenna have to be on the outside or can it be inside the front fairing and will the location effect the signal. Can a booster be added to increase the signal. I am just looking into it rite now but sure do like the fact that I can listen to what I want when I want. I am thinking about hard wiring it and placing it in the center of my fairing and doing away with the middle compartment bag. Any help would be appreciated. I have only seen the small square antennas that are magnetic or they have double sided tape to hold them, Thanks for your time and help, Dave

I had XM and my antenna mounted on top of the head unit for the radio, under the fairing. What I did not like was if I got under a bunch of trees, the radio wouldn't work. Donno about Sirius radio at all.

So which is better XM or Sirius?

Quite honestly, I use an MP3 player that has a built-in FM radio... I canceled my XM subscription because I like my tunes better ...

ive got sirius in my truck, and XM on my bike. I personally like sirius better by a long shot. The music, the sports.... Almost every station on sirius that I listen to is better than XM's.

Wont matter soon, the merger is en route.

Dave the antenna can be put under the fairing. The only reason you may not get a signal is tall building or in some areas overhanging trees might do it. Most people don't have a problem. Sirius and Xm are one company now. You may want to see what new equipment comes out in the next month or so. The question of which is best is all personal preference. Rock is Rock and Country is Country no mater which company is playing it. Just check out the other channels and decide which you like best. Just keep in mind some channels will come and go with the new company.
