My Rush 2 inch chrome yellowed real bad at the shoulder of the right muffler. Another guy on here said his last 2 Rush sets yellowed also. They are not loud enough for me so F--K IT, I just ordered a Thunderheader 2 into 1 with heat shields.

I tried the 2", not nearly as good sounding TO ME, as the 2.5. Same thing with a buddy. He had been running the 2.5 and then got an 08. The dealer put on the 2" Rush and he hated them. He immediately went out and got the 2.5. Much deeper sound.

Default Be Aware!

Be aware, 2.5" baffles are a lot for a stock 96" motor and not recommended by Rush because of the perfromance drop. If all you are interested in is noise, by all means go that way. If you want to keep performance and raise the decibel limit, the 2.25 are deep and loud without the performance loss. All depends on what you wnat out of your exhaust system. If you really want loud, go right to the drag pipes ....

How much of a sound change when the packing is removed from the 2 1/2's? Is is deeper, or more tinny sounding. I rode behind a guy that removed the baffles all together last week very loud kind of high pitched bark, not quite what I'm looking for.

I have 1.5" and they are a little louder than I want. Cant imagine what a 2.5" is like.
Its all about what YOU like and nobody can really tell you what is good or bad about the sound.

I have the 2" and they sound great for me. I hope (key word hope) to get a 09 SG this Dec. and plan on doing the 2.25".

I have two inch and they sound great. An added bonus is you don't have to do any mods to the bike to put them on. I live close to the Rush company in Indiana and stopped and spoke with them. If you go with 2.5 you will need to add on Stage 1 becuase of not enough back pressure. As for other comments about yellowing, give Rush a call if you run into that. They seemed to fully back their product. My 2 cents.
