I finally got my Jack Pot slip on Pipes and installed an hour ago. I have to say I am impressed. They sound better than I was hoping having a nice deep rumble at idle. It is likely my imagination, but the throttle even seems more responsive when I crack it. Problem is it is rain and forcast for rain for the next few days. I have had not had the chance to check out the performance as of yet. If it dries up even for a moment I will be on it. Anyway, so far so good.
All I have did is add the slip on's. No other mods what so ever. I did take it for a ride, although short due to the weather. I never got out of 3rd, but I did try to give it the best decel I could, and no backfire or popping. Seems to react well and the sound is exactly what I wanted. I will add a fuel management (TFI) as well as a Air Filter. Likely a screaming Eagle but not yet sure. I am very happy as of now. Will know more when weather permits. If you read their web page, it is pretty convincing. I like the fact they are internally coated to prevent blueing as well as dyna tuned. Money back as well if your not happy.
Keep us up to date on your opinion of the Jackpots; I'm looking for another set of slip ons one step up from stock that won't make my ears ring on a long run.
Oh, I'm in total agreement about the mufflers. In fact, mine are waiting to be picked up along with the Zippers air cleaner kit I ordered from Jamie. I know he put the Jackpots on his '09 FLHRC (by the way, my new bike is exactly the same as his, right down to the color, and should arrive within a week) without air cleaner or tuning changes.
OK, finally got dry streets. Took the bike out and the pipes preformed well. I highly recommend them. I had hard decel through all gears at a variety of speeds with zero pop or backfire. Performance was impressive as well. I took my bike on the interstate and ran it at 90 MPH and it sounded great. Noise is just right but has a bark when you twist, even at highway speeds. Did some harder than usual decels with no problem. While cruising, just a nice rumble. No complaints here.
