I have the dual light setup kinda like the Mocos HID light so I decided to try out one of the HID conversion kits out there. I'll have to let ya know how it works out as I just ordered it Friday. Looks like a snap to install and a whole lot better then just putting in a xenon type bulb that could burn out in a month. I did a search on them in a few different forums and couldn't come up with any info good or bad so i figured someone has to be the guinea pig.
I have installed the H-D, HID headlamp kit on my RK. I love it and it works great!
I'm kind of a stickler for light and noise. Also just bought the passing lamps which have replace-able H-3 lamps in the reflector assy. Upgraded the stocker 35watts to the Sylviania SilverStars at 55watts each. Man what a difference that makes as well.
Only thing just besure that parts guy gets your HID for your EG, not for a RK! Makes a difference, install wise. Not over all HID. RK is not going to install right on EG and vice versa!
Harley is discontinuing the HID according to my stealer. Apparently there were not enough of us paying $500 for the light. Get one while you can.
As for the install, according to the instructions you'll need to pull the outer fairing, gas tank and pop a pin on a connector. You should have a Service Manual to help identify the connectors (ignition and right hand controls). I found it pretty easy since I had my fairings and tank off for painting.
