Read his post again. No need to remove the INNER fairing. To remove the radio you only need to remove the OUTER fairing.

You can try EBAY, or an authorized HD dealer. Some dealers will let you order online, like Zanottis, and I hear Chicago HD as well, although I have never bought anything from CHD. Can't answer the fairing question from personal experience, but with just a few screws I can't imagin it would take very long. Don't drop it, BTW.

While off, you might consider soundproofing the inside of the outer fairing. Great thread about this a couple of weeks ago. Product is available from EBay. Here's the link:

Any H-D Dealer, if not in stock they will order it for you. You might do a search on eBay. Get a manual. It will guide you through about anything you will want to do.

10 minutes to remove, careful with the windshield, lay something over the front fender to avoid scratches especially when disconnecting the headlight wiring.

Thumbs up Thanks

Right on.... good info.

Doesn't sound like a big big job to check out the bearings and re-tighten, i was told it'd be a three and a half hour job to do it.

I'll be doing this after the weekend.

Thanks again for all the info.
