Unhappy cruise control is jacked up

my 05 eglide std has cruse i bought & put on my self less than a year ago it will turn on by its self go off by its self speed up by its self & all kinds of crazy styff any ideas ??? i already did a search & came up with every thing but cruise control problems . i did un plud throttle roll off switch & still no workie rite .any help is appresheated (sp)

pull the fuse until you can get it worked out. safety first.

Did it work right when you installed it?
Check the wiring from one end to the other.
Look for pinched wires or anyplace the wires rub.
Also check that the wires are securely attached at the connectors and check the connectors for moisture or corrosion.

The HD Electrical Diagnosis Manual for 05 Touring Models has the diagnostic information and fix(es) you need. Ask the service writer at your HD store for the shop copy to look at and copy the pages you need. Alternatively, spend the $50 and buy one--better than messing with the problem and hoping for cyber space solutions IMO.

it worked great for the first 6 months or so .then just strted acting up

your set/accel switch is having a problem, making a connection when it should not.
Try pulling the pin terminal from the cruise connector for this button, see if it goes away.

switch is good checked switch with continuity meter also checked wires under fairing & at cruise module all good checked brake actiators (levers) tapping &pushing/pulling to make sure it was not disenguaging when i hit bunps because of sensitivity . no problems there .& un hooked roll off switch still no workie i think it is a short in the module
