I just went to Biker's Image and listened to the sound sample they have for the CFR mufflers.... I thought my sound clip was bad? Wow, that clip is sh*t!!! That clip does NOTHING for those mufflers! LOL!
So Numb, your CFRs behind a built motor are louder than the Rineharts????? Good thing I put baffles in 'em then before I build mine this winter! BAAHAHAH!!
You're right, J. The sound clip on Biker's Image is pretty sad. I can't imagine how they sell any of 'em with that one.
I must get my bike out in the next couple of days and see what sort of sound byte I can come up with. It'll be easy to top that one, that's for sure.

I got mine on-line at http://www.bikersimage.com They were great to deal with. I had 'em inside of a week.

That's the same place. Maybe just a supply problem at the time. As far as the chirp my friends had could be something with that set. I went to a bike night last night. Someone started their bike and I knew what they were. They really sounded good, really low rumble.
I have CFR touring slips on my 2010 road king and as a few of you have mentioned, they are just too damn loud. I see some of you put HP performance baffles in and that seemed to fix the problem? Can someone tell me what size? I saw this link http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/...de=DS%2D202012 but wanted to double check on the size... From the website I see they make them in 1 /3/4 in , 2, and 2 1/4.
I am also curious if anyone notices a flat spot when cruising on the highway in 5th or 6th gear around 60-65 mph. I am noticing it as my cruise control is having a hard time keeping up and I never had this issue before.
They are still a straight thru design, but break up the exhaust pulse and provide some backpressure..

I have the CFR slips-on on my 2010 road king. I have noticed the same problem as everyone else. They sound great at lower idles (best I have ever heard) but if you take them on the highway or get on the throttle they are just too damn loud. Can you tell me the size of the HP performance baffle you purchased? Seems there are three different sizes. Also with the slip on being megaphone shaped, how do you secure it in so they don't rattle?

I was looking into getting these, but I have a 103 kit on my bike and have been told by a few members here that they are having a hard time tuning the bike with the CFR's. Anyone have a problem with a stage 2 and up motor?
I have CFR's on my bike and couldn't be happier. No flat spots at all. It seems some people have issues with these slip ons. I only have an AC and PCV, no major mods at all. My bike runs great and I credit it all to my dyno tuner. I posted a while back how it didn't take long for my tuner to dyno my bike and got all kinds of negative feedback. Like it's "supposed" to take at least five hours or something. Yea right!
