Ive said this before and ill say it again. If you dont go to the ralllies, then then the city wins! They dont care if they dont get your money! Thats why they raised taxes. They dont want us there, so if you dont go, then the city wins! If you wanna make a stand, go to the rallies, spend all your money OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS of MYRTLE BEACH and have a blast. Be sure to cruise the boulevard thru the city as much as possible tho! Then we win! The city has to put up with us and still spend the money but not get any of our money! A contact list is up for the fall rally in the southeast forum and we are planning a get together and ride for HD Forum members on Sat. morning.

why would you go someplace where you are not wanted?
it is just asking for bad sh*t to happen
I cancelled my rooms and won't go back
It is not that great of a rally and I won't miss it
There are other rallys that want you there and appreciate your $

Don't think I will be cruising through the city, the loud pipes ordinance allows the police to impound your motorcyle until you have a means to remove it from the city without driving it. By the wya, you can't park a trailer in the city also.

To many restrictions how can you have a good time? Impound bike for pipes?

The business owners will be the ones who suffer, poloticians are idiots, the business people need to form an alliance and refuse to pay the tax.

Power is in numbers and sticking together, the loud pipe ordinice is bullsh....t, but if ya let them get away with it they will do it.

We used to ride to upstate NY every year, spend our money but no more after the road blocks setup to ticket just bikers. We sent a letter to governor and all conrgessman etc letting them know we will take our money elsewhere.

Ya have to stand up for your rights and fight, we have the MMA in my state and RI as well.

I just got back from Myrtle Beach from a week of R&R. Out of all the bikers I have seen, no one was wearing a helmet and the cops did'nt have anyone pulled over for such. I think that is a proposed ordinance as the mayor is attempting to get the surrounding jurisdictions to pass the same. 99% percent of the shop owners I have talked to while I was there- WANT the bikers!! I believe [ a little bird/waitress] I talked to that all this is diriving from the second week of bikers. Apparently, Myrtle Beach has taken away alot of activities i.e the race track. So they have nothing to do but raise hell.
The battle is all over the news down there.

I know that this issue can create a lot of heated debate but the last thing you want to do is get into a pushing contest with the LEO's in South Carolina. For you folks that don't live here you may not understand the laws here completely.... Forget the helmet issue for the moment......... ALL motor vehicle laws in South Carolina are arrestable offences and the vehicle subject to impoundent. A lot of folkes that live here don't know it either. The State law reads as follows.... "for any violation that an officer has the right to stop, that officer shall have the right of arrest at the officer's discretion". Also if you get arrested after 4PM on Friday, there's no bail till Monday morning. Just a little food for thought.

Amen Larry. Two constant questions while in the "box".... "What time is it and When does the Judge get here". I don't like they're food either.

OK, I rode down yesterday evening and only saw two bikes on trailers. (They musta been broke?) I haven't been down town yet but it's pretty quiet here at 8:00 am. They put my *** back in jail I don't plan on it being for a misdemeanor charge. :-) I bet money my FLTRI won't pass a 85 db noise check. I'm going for the "I'm a TAX Payer Here... Give me a Damn Break" if the PoPo get me. There's a new group right now BOAST. Business Owners Against Selective Tourism, looks like they are on our side. Nice White and Black People who are Pissed at Myrtle.

Ride safe.

LMAO .. you're right Capt, if they were on trailers they had to be broke. And right now Myrtle is broke too....I don't know if or how they're going to fix it, but it's like two big dogs in a fight, if you try to break it up you could get bit. Two things I do know, to get stopped by PoPo you must first get his attention. He's looking at hundreds of vehicles at any given time so you got to be a little different from the rest to stand out in the crowd, think about it, unless you're unlucky enough to get into a DUI check point. Then you need to have all your ducks in a row.... Number 2, if you do get stopped, try not to bring up the subject of donuts, it's in your best interest.

I just got off the phone with the Myrtle Beach Police (843-918-1382)... figured it's just easier to go to the source. The helmet law does NOT go into effect until December. Therefore, it is not an issue for this Rally; however, it will be an issue for the Spring Rally if it is not overturned. The representative that I spoke with said the only new restriction for this rally will be the 87dB noise ordinance, which will be strictly enforced.
