Den Den hit it on the head! Horry county is a big place. Most of everything that the bike rally is known for is outside the city limits of Myrtle Beach. I and my friends are going down to the Fall rally. But we will not spend a dime in the city limits. Our money will be spent in Little River, North Myrtle Beach, Surfside, Garden City. We will just past thru MB, and oh yea, that is when I will remove my helmet.......

From the scuttlbutt I'm hearing at work and from blogs this is going to get ugly. The best thing we can do is show up at MB for the spring rally. The town leaders are hoping we will just give up and go away. If we did then they win. Lets show up in force and let the SS know we will not be intimidated. But no one spend a dime in the city limits. The only way to beat city hall is hit'em where it hurts. The sad this is 99.9% of the businesses want us there.

I just received a news letter from MBBikeweek.com. The news letter stated that people are asking if there is anything they can do. YES, show up for the spring 2009 rally. The mayor and half of the city council is up for re-election in Nov 2009. If everyone shows up in force with the same numbers as 2008, the mayor and city council will have to answer for raising taxes and not acheiving their goal which is to get rid of the bikers!

What I would love to see would be a pack of about 1000 bikes rolling up 17. What would they do then. There are ways around MB. Just don't give our money to MB. Barefoot Landing and other locations are outside of the city limits so is the HD dealership. The only thing in MB is Broadway at the Beach ( where vendors used to be ) and the hotels.Once they start losing the revenue we bring in maybe they'll start speaking up about the council being communists.

You're absolutely right but I think you may be missing the point. We don't want to by-pass Myrtle Beach. We want to go right through the heart of it. See, the city counsil is hoping we will stay away. If so they get what they want. We need to clog every street there is for five to ten days. Then come election time the a$$holes that approved this will be voted out of office for raising taxes and getting nothing for it. The word needs to get out before the spring rally 2009 and get every biker across this great country to show up in Myrtle Beach!!!! That would really fix them.

I know some people behind the scenes of MB govt. and the word is its not us the Harley guys its the crowd from black bike week that causes the problems and commits most of the crime. They love the financial support during bike week and so does the business community. They can not stop the toads from coming unless they pull the pin on all bike events.

Daytona beach fixed the problem years ago when the toads wanted to come and eat there young and take advantage of everyone that let them, the businesses just shut down for the week went on "vacation." The toads then moved on to some other area where they could rape, rob and steal. That was MB.

but the naacp has taken several businesses to court (and won) for discrimination for being closing down during bbw.

here's my take on the whole thing: why make such an issue of going to a place that doesn't want you there? like one poster said, its not the place, its the people. look folks, this is a big country, there are lots of small towns that i'm sure would welcome the additional income. just make another bike week elsewhere.

here's an idea: like denden said, go there in the spring so that the residents see that these assclowns raised their taxes and achieved nothing for it. but, don't spend one thin dime there. then come election time, the residents vote said assclowns out of office. then next year, hold bike week somewhere else. that way they got voted out of office, and the city doesn't get any income from us. win-win for us i say.

The Law Suits are getting ready to roll. First Law Suit Info at MB On Line I'm happy to see someone is going to jump (other than the NAACP) on them. The NAACP has sued a bunch of restaurants for closing during Atlantic Beach Crime Fest. Last that I remember was Greg Normans restaurant, if the place had been open, I can tell you no Black Biker is going there. I've been there once and the prices are outta sight. I know numerous business owners and they all say the same thing the ABB riders. Talking to a Thia restaurant owner I asked him how business was during ABB Rally, his reply was "Ninja Rider Eat Chicken Only... Business Bad but during Harley Week Business Good! Harley rider like International Food". Basically what the NAACP does is Extortion. They file the law suit then settle out of court. Places who choose to close during Black Bike Week should be able to do so without the worry of being Sued by the NAACP.

I know it all Sucks but...

I'm a (W)Horry County Tax Payer and I'll be there.
