After reading you post again... The Police Report for half a week for Atlantic Beach Crime Fest was 580 PAGES last time I looked it it. Pimps, prostitutes, domestic violence, suspicious persons, nudity, blocking traffic, drag racing you name it. The 10 days for the Harley rally I think it was about the same 500+ pages. (Both include the normal nuance calls about neighbors and dogs, traffic stops etc. so not everything was motorcycle related. Comparing the stats on both rally's and people, ABBW was only 4 days and less than 1/5 of the people but the Myrtle Beach Police report was Larger for the AB Crime Fest.) Normally Atlantic Beach looks like a trash truck exploded on Tuesday morning after Memorial Day. I hate it but that's the way I see it.

The "place'' is not the party...... the people are the party! I don't understand all the Bitchin and hand wringing. Go someplace else. There are private camp grounds all over the country that will love you and your money. The best part is no cops. I live 45 min. from Daytona. I will NOT step foot in that place except to take a ****. For years the city has made that very plain they (the city fathers) want you to leave. If you enjoy traffic jams and an ******* with a badge on every corner Daytona is the place. Sounds like Murtle Beach is going the same way to me. I refuse to go anywhere for the ''place''. I go for the people who are interested in ''Biker Stuff''.

Brother I know Daytona is not what it used to be. I've been going to Dayton since the 70s. No drag races on the beach (Ponce Inlet) now and the last time I rode on the beach they charged me and then constantly checked our speed with radar. I still enjoy seeing what comes down Main Street though. I should post some pictures from this year.

Local laws cannot be more lenient than state laws but can be more strict. I personally wear a helmet. I am not saying it would save me in every instance, but maybe it would prevent my children from wiping the drool from my mouth if I did not have one on and cracked my melon on the ground. Just my 2 cents.

There are just too many OTHER GOOD places to go, to worry one little bit about all of the a$$ wholes in M.B. Ride free, ride far, and ride often! See ya on the road, but NOT in Myrtle Beach S.C.

Its really unfortunate. Back in its infancy(1980's) when the rally was just the weekend (Fri-Sun) it was a blast. Not too crowded and I had my wife and 3 under 10yo children in tow. Hotel with the beach in the back and "the strip" in the front!

this isn't the point being made....anyways, its YOUR choice to wear a helmet, and it should be others choice to not wear one....but this is another topic all together.

Sorry but you got it wrong. Since the state does not have a helmet law the city of MB can not make their own. That's why they're playing a word game and making it an infraction.
They need to set up their own admin process because these ticket will not be brought up in court , reported to DMV, or Ins. Co's. It's all a bunch of BS.
Now they're saying three of the new infraction take effect immediately (1) the loud exhaust but not the other two. Again people should be informed before a new law is put into effect. The lawyers are all ready lining up.

FWIW, North Carolina requires "eye protection". A windshield satisfies NC law.
