Key fob malfunction or what ???

Went out this morning to mount my '07 Ultra to head to work and it would do nothing but blink the lights at me. After several minutes of trying, I finally disarmed the system and made the engine start. When I parked at worked, killed the engine and dismounted in my usual fashion, the security system reset itself and the key fob would not disarm it once again. I am thinking key fob battery at this point? Anyone else had this happen? After I got to work, I removed my battery and checked voltage: 2.93 volts. I intalled another used one I had in a computer that was slightly over 3 volts, so I guess we'll see this afternoon if that my have been the problem. I will go get a new battery as soon as I get off work. Any guesses was to what may be going on with my security system? It has never happened in the 20K miles on the bike. I bought it used with 742 miles on it in June of '07, but it was first purchased in Sept of '06, so the battery in the key fob is at least 2 years old. Any help appreciated...PACO

I would bet its just the battery in the fob, I've heard they don't last real long. I'm planning to replace the batteries in both of my fob's for my 08 next spring just to avoid the problem.

My battery only lasted about 3 months in my 08 FLHX key fob before it let me down on a poker run, luckily it was the last stop and I was only about 5 miles from home.

Do now...guess I thought it would last longer than 3 months before it died. Won't get me again, Don't ever want to ride my buddies girlfriend's sporty home again to get my other keyfob.
