I did the Stage 2 103" kit with SE 255 cams and no head work. It gave me exactly what I wanted. My mileage went from average 38 to average 43mpg. I didn't realize how much of a difference it made until I spanked my buddy's stage 1 '08 SG yesterday pretty bad, twice. He is now going to do it to his.

I know you can get more performance with other kits and head work, but keeping the warranty in tact was important to me.

+1 on the HQ-500 cams. Great bolt in cams.

You don't need the chain drive. The new in '07 tensioner system is far better than the old one.

Hey Jim,

You got me excited with your support for the Stage 2 & SE255 cams..Mine goes in on Friday the 10th.. I also stuck with the 103 kit because I wanted my warranty for another year..

If warranty is a concern stick with what's included in the 103" Stage II kit. Going with 3rd party heads, cams, etc...say g'bye to your warranty.

That's what I did. No complaints at all. Plenty of power to please the seat-O-meter.

Stage II 103" w/ SE 255's Baby! You will like it! I've ran three different set's of Woods gear drive cams and wouldn't have any of clattering things over this HD kit. Nothing ferocious...but nice solid dependable power and great torque!! Love it!

The smaller woods cam can be as quiet as the 255s and still keep pulling when the 255 nose over.

Not the smaller Woods cams I've had TW5g-TW6 (not 6H) both noisy as hell. In fact I've never heard Woods cams that weren't, but I back out of this thread since it isn't about Woods cams.
