I did the Stage II after hitting 1,000 miles and have been very pleased with the difference. Perhaps I'll do the head work after the warranty runs out. I think you will very pleased with the 255s.
I did the 103 upgrade and it will change warranty to one year on engine. I have the extended warranty on everything else. After warranty I'm going to look into the belt drive cams, but that's about 6mos away.
ultra class. 2008 installed a 103 low compression pistons stock heads race tuner 203 cam thunder header 87 hp 103 torque I know it's nothing to brag about, but it sure does run nice and sweet 40 to 42 miles per gallon on the highway. Sure is nice not to worry what gas I can buy and not pinging

Are you saying with the 103 you dont need to buy the priemum, you buy the regular gas, octane is not an issue?
no no no get me wrong I always use premium. I just don't worry of what type of gas station, I might run into back in the sticks. With the low compression. It just doesn't ping at all. I also have a ultra classic 2003 with high compression. Sometimes you have to be concerned about where you get gas.
Well ill let you guys know what i think.. i could even do a little video of the engine running before and after since the 103 is not in yet. I think i will put in some gear driven cams and different heads. I dont know what i can do with the stock cylinders, pistons, cams, seat, and one head,, but ill put them on ebay.
cool, i have the 103 kit and i am happy, but am gonna do the heads and a matched cam... it is a good enough upgrade but after riding a friends bike, i need just a little more, thus going with the additional upgrades
Anything that you buy aftermarket if your motor were to develope a problem and it is not HD screaming eagle you could be looking at no warranty and a big bill. Most dealer that install the stage one or stage two kit if you have a problem down the road or more likely to be able to help you out if its screaming eagle parts and not aftermarket. And some dealers that do have a good wrench working in the back that is into hopping up these motors could recommend a different cam then what comes in the kit and the part department will work with you to get the right set up that will give you the best bang for your buck. Hope this helps out and remember good head work lets the motor breath and helps make horsepower along with the cylinders and cams.
I just had the dealer install the stage 3, 103 ci on my 2008 FLHX. The build included Screaming Eagle 251 cams, stronger valve springs, HD super tuner,103 cylinders , high compression pistons with 10:5.1 compression ratio. I've only been able to put around 100 miles on the build due to the weather here in Tennessee, but I can tell a big differerence in the power. The mechanic advised me to keep it under 4000 rpm for a few hundred miles because he only tuned it on the dyno to 4000 rpm and once I've got 1000 miles to bring it in and he'll tune it to 6000 rpm and give me a readout with the peak numbers. Total cost including parts and labor and dyno tune was $2100.00 during their winter special. I'm very happy with the upgrade and can't wait to open it up once it's broken in and tuned on the dyno. I'll post my numbers when I get it tuned.
