And i wish there were I did a 103 without doing head work. My indy said he would clean them up.. Dont do a upgrade without head work about 800-1000 for some good heads.
And about the HQ 107 do the HQ103
you do 107 and higher then you gotta send the crank out and it can get real costly real quick (wish i had the coin maybe next year)
You got me excited with your support for the Stage 2 & SE255 cams..Mine goes in on Friday the 10th.. I also stuck with the 103 kit because I wanted my warranty for another year..
Just how do you expect to keep the warranty if you have had the bike over 60 days?
Perhaps the dealer that does your install will help you with warranty work if something does happen. HD will not warranty it if a HD shop does the work and it has been over 60 days since you purchased the bike.
I have checked with 5 dealers and they all say the same thing about the warranty. They do give a 90 day in house warranty on it though.
That's why I am waiting until my warranty has ended.

Check out Bobby Wood cams. Go with the gear drive. As far as the heads it will be well spent money to get you stock heads cleaned up a bit. I don't think you will regret and if all the other work your doing doesn't void your warranty, cleaning up the heads certainly won't hurt the warranty. It will be alot better air flow.
Looks like everyone has their own idea about the recommendations on your bike. YOU have to decide how far you want to go as far as performance gains as well as the amount of $ spent. You want to keep your warranty.Wait til your warranty is up,do your stage 2 or whatever and make it run along side anyone out there.Heads,Heads,Heads is where the power lies and an increase in compression. Go all out "or stay on the porch with the puppies".SE heads would not be MY first choice. They`re basically a head that flows a little better than a BS head that comes stock on all the other models.Do some research and make some phone calls to a couple different professional(reputable) jobbers and base your decision on your needs.Just my opinion.Toby
I see all these different types of cams but no one mentions the cam in my bike. I bought mine and it was already built up using the 260 cam with SE CNC ported heads. I love this engine. It has loads of power with 105HP and 107TQ. It's fast off the line and has plenty of passing power on the highway. The previous owner also dropped in the HD 6 speed tranny. I want an 09 bagger, but I know I'm gonna miss this engine.
I've had gear drive cams and loved them, and the noise, at least on my S&S cams was not bad, in fact I kind of like it, but it will kill the warrenty to go with gear drives. If HD don't make it, they won't stand behind it. S&S has the patend on the gear drives.
