It is legal to lane split in TX, though there area lot of rules governing it. You can only go 5 mph faster than the surrounding traffic and it is only legal if the other traffic is moving at < 20 mph.
Used to lane split on my Ducati in Europe all the time with no problem. Did it last week on my RK and it was a little tight but again, no problem. Just have to tip the bike from side to side.
I've seen Europeans lane split in France and in Holland, but they're mostly riding the tall dual sport tourers with a top box and no side bags. You seldom saw side bags on a European bike, and it was obvious why (of course, they're highways and roads are a lot narrower than ours).
I'm wondering how feasible lane-splitting with something like the Road King would be. Does anyone here live in California and lane-split with any HD tourer?
Some folks do it and many folks don't.
LMFAO (an inside joke, sorry folks) :<)
All kidding aside. It's not bad to do but can get a bit hairy if you have the hard bags on.
