Like agree with what other have advised. Leave the lights on for safety reasons. I don't want to ride a Christmas tree but I do want people to notice me so I don't get killed.

Have to agree with you. I just changed all my lights to LED so I can be seen and the cagers get that "What the hell ! " attention getter reaction.

Those lights are REQUIRED by every state in the US by federal DOT law. Removing them will lead to nothing but added harassment by LEO and the danger of you getting hit by a cager.

Then you will come on this forum and lament.

You may or may not have a state inspection requirement but there are laws requiring them to be there if you operate on any public road.

The more lights the better, imho. Just change the lens to the smoke colored ones. I've added (yet to re-install on my '08) Xenon HID lights mounted on the crash bars and run them even in day time...legally too many lights, but people see me and I can see a long ways at night. Imho, I'd take safety over looks.

Could someone provide a link to the LAW that REQUIRES amber running lights on the front of a motorcycle, that would be required by federal DOT laws in every state in the US. I would like to read that. As for being harassed by LEO, nobody worries about that when changing exhausts, that does skirt the law. And as if those 2 amber running lights that are barely visible next to the headlight at day or night, would prevent someone from running over you is a little far fetched. I've had mine off since April last year, over 20k miles. No harassment or increased danger of being hit. IMHO.

Your chart is a bit confusing as to what it applies to, however the part you have in bold red is about turn signals as I read it. What I turned off were the running lights. I'm still legal with the 2 red or amber working turn signals and headlight on. IMHO.

The original poster referred to "I just don't like the whole orange thing constantly on" lighting which implied the directionals that is what I am reading as he wants to get rid of the "orange" lights. The running lights are not required but the orange blinkers are.
