Went to two different place both said 7-8 hr labor for sway out. I know it pretty labor intense with the internal wiring and stuff. I dont mind paying but just wanting to make sure time is looks ok

Our shop charges 5 hours. Can you do it yourself?

Dawg,

To be honest dont know if I could do it. I would just hate to get like half way done and not finish. I have read on here that alot of people have just did it themselves. I have cruise and abs. I guess if I pay to have someone do it I know i will have my bike back. If i do it and get stuck on something I could be out a few day while I am figuring it out. One plus of doing it myself I could buy some more tools.

Take a look at this. If it scares you . . . pay someone to do it.

did mine myself in 4, thats extending every wire 12 inches, soldering and heat shrink...its really not a big job, went to the dealer and paid 12 bucks for all the different wires...like 22 wires total

I paid a shop to do mine...watched him do a little of it (brake lines). I have my fairing off and as I'm looking at it (and what I watched him do) and read all the threads about the swap. I know I could do it now. I didn't do it the first time around because I'm the type that usually learns from mistakes (and usually make a mistake the first time around).

I think if you get everything ahead of time like your brake lines, clutch cable and a extended wire kit it should be a breeze.

I'm leaning more and more of getting the 16" bars and swapping out my 13's.

If I raise my bars just 2" from stock will I still need to extend all the cables and wires? Thanks.

check out the Ken & Judy link. It'll answer some of your questions.

I put 13s on my 06 ultra and didn't half to add lengths to wires, just had to relocate one connector inside the fairing.
