I have the Clearview Medium which is +1" over stock. I'm 5'11". I just barely look over it. My master cylinder hit at full stop until I changes to Khrome Werks sweepers. I hear the CV recently came out with a RG shield that is narrower so the mirror don't hit. I've tried 2 other windshields including the Klock Werks and the CV is by far the best of the lot.

Clearview Medium

Klock Werks 12". Looks good but too much wind

Zach,

Yes I do. It's brand new. If you want to try it, I can get it to you. If you like it we can work out a more than fair "good friend" deal. How does that sound?

You may have to ride up here so we can put it on together.

hey "buttman"
question for ya..... do you get rainwater running through your vent? I have a Clearview GT Med, with tint and vent, today, while stuck in a storm, I noticed drops on the inside of the windshield , along the rim of the closed vent. No big deal, except now i wave streaks from the rain below the vent, and i imaginew they'll be a pain to clean... I imagine, this, because I'm not real big on cleaning, and if it's tough to reach.. it stays dirty, untill I bring the bike in for a 10k service....
I do the inbetween stuff, but my dealer is cheap enough, and throws in a detailing ... which for ME... is well worth the price
Thanks

Excuse me while I vent,

I honestly cannot say for sure that I had any leakage inside the shield from the vent.

I know that there were droplets of rain hanging off the slats on the exterior of the shield, and dirt residue from the areas of muddy road construction I drove over in the wet around the interior surface of the shield including below the vent,

Butt, I believe this was all due to the wind and muck being blown up from below the fairing and onto the interior surface of the shield, not the vent itself,

I simply get a small piece of terrycloth and push it in between the dash and bottom of the vent, a drinking straw helps to guide the cloth till it is near enough the other side of the vent to remove by hand,

No biggie,

PS, extremely good taste in Road Glide color,

I have the XL Tall with the Sundowner seat. I'm 6'1' and I see over the top of the shield. I had the medium but needed the taller one. I bought the blem in both the medium and then the tall. Damned if I could find the blemishes on the shields. They described them as being out of the line of sight. Clearview is the way to go. Thicker than stock and the recurve at the top makes it seem taller and has eliminated all buffeting to the melon. The Sundowner seat was a good choice over stock for me. It is a little wider so if you've got less that a 32 inseam you may want to look elsewhere. If possible try before you buy.

Good luck in your decision.

Cheers,
John

Is the Klock Werks that bad with the wind? Thinking about lowers and the KW, but I am as tall as you and the wind pisses me off on the Road Glide and I HATE cold weather with a passion.

I've been observing the RG windshield conversation, and it doesn't seem like anyone can find one that actually does what they want in every aspect. Is the stock shield that bad? My stock on my Ultra works great.
