H.o.g. - wtf?
Got a flat in the rear tire and called H.O.G. from a rest area.
Was told they only tow up to 15 miles.
We were 107 miles away from the nearest Harley dealer.
What kind of coverage is that?
Luckily we had AAA with the motorcycle rider clause.
Seems H.O.G. is next to worthless if it's only good for 15 miles.
If I'm wrong, please enlighten me.
BTW, the bike handled fine with the flat; felt like a rough road.
4Corners HD will fix us up tomorrow.
Just had to vent a little.
A buddie of mine had a similar situation in KS about 30 miles from the closest HD dealership: He had a flat on his less than two mth old SG, and called HOG (since he had gotten a free membership w/ the purchase of his bike). After taking some basic info (location), they said, "Sit tight, we'll come get you on Tues." That wasn't much help, considering it was SUNDAY.
I'm not knocking HOG as I think they do good work, but unless your intent is to do charity work and 15 mile dinner rides, the basic membership given w/ a bike purchase doesn't do much for you---at least in my area of SW Missouri is concerned. No discounts on parts, labor, etc....
