Just had a complete factory security system with Smart Siren II installed on my 98 RK last week. it works great. I also purchased the small key fob alarm reciever to keep with me when I'm not within earshot of my ride.
I have the complete setup on my Dyna Wide Glide, including pager. The system is made by Delphi; same company that makes parts for GM. Delphi is a spin-off of GM. The systems work great. I am amazed at the options that allow for different set-ups. One can select the alarm for storage or transport so that the alarm doesn't drain the battery or set-off with the movement in a truck. You can enter a secret code to turn off the alarm using the turn signal buttons. The sensitivity can be set for the motion sensor. The alarm can be set to auto-on when the ignition switch is turned off. The pager can be set for audible or vibrate or both.
My bike had the basic alarm with the siren and I installed the Siren-II and programed the Remote Pager. I think most of the later bikes have the wiring, and some may need to install the alarm system bracket under the seat.
OK what is the trick. Or has anyone done a write up on this yet. I put in the alarm while I am waiting on my smart siren II and pager to come in and everything seems to work fine, but when I start the bike it just shuts off. When I take the TSSM out and put the stock TSM back in all is back to normal.
I have not read thru them, but I remember reading some other posts on this that people that have issues with installing it them-self found the answers in the Do it your self General section. I hope this helps.
