Sending the Fatcat on vacation

Yep, I'm sending the Fatcat off on an airplane. And when it comes back I expect it to be cooler and darker. Much darker. Black, in fact. I'm sending it to Jet-Hot to be ceramic coated. It looks wonderful chrome, but for some reason, I'm thinking that black would go better with my paint job. I sure hope I'm right.

I'm not sure about the total just yet. I'm thinking that after they do the header pipes, muffler and heat shields, add on the postage....I'll be somewhere in the neighborhood of just under $400. There is a less expensive coating with a lower max temperature. And yes...I know they make Fatcats in black to begin with...chrome was nice for awhile. That's what owning a Harley is all about, replacing perfectly good parts with more perfectly good parts.

I just got my heat shields back from Jet Hot and they charged me $17.50/foot and a $50.00 fee to strip the chrome. With S/H, it all came to just under $200.00.

Well you had better send your crash bar, handlebars, and lower and upper legs too then. Wouldn't want them to look out of place with your pipe or the rest of your black.
