Default clutch cable adjustment

I had my dealer do a 5000 mile service on my 2008 RG. Now the clutch does not return all the way back when I let it go. I am wondering if 08's need lube on cables or if this is an adjustment issue and if I need to lube , what type is the correct product for the cable. My only concern comes from the idea that the cable may not be like the old wire cables that were common for the last hundred years. I dont want to put something on them that damages a liner or something.

You might want to notify dealer of the problem. Sounds like they need to re-adjust it.

Default Clutch Cable

The cable is a typical stranded cable. Being so new I wouldn't think lack of lubrication is an issue. If it worked fine before the last mainenance action, then you can bet it was induced. One quick thing to look for is the bend in the cable. One time after servicing mine, the cable was caught in the clamp and it was difficult to engage. As far as the lube thing; the dealer is suppose to lube it as part of the service. Bottom line? Bring it back to them!

You can take up the slack at the adjuster on the cable. It should have 1/16 to 1/8" play where the cable end meets the clamp. Sometimes when they loosen the cables they are not all the way in the adjuster, you need to pull the lever a few times and then adjust. I assume it was lubed, does it pull the same.
