Went back to Texan HD in Conroe, TX yesterday to get my left saddlebag looked at. I had a hard time getting it to close. I got there about 9 AM, they took it right in. When they found the problem, the tech took me into the shop and showed me. The tech fixed it, and I was out of there in an hour.
I couldn't find the thread relating to this problem, cause I know others had this problem. The lock was interfering with the latch. A little file work, and it was good.

I had this same problem with the latch, never really saw any reason to file on it. I would just insert the key in the lock, turn it slightly so the locking plate would miss the bag hinge plate and it would close fine every time. Probably just an alignment problem. No big deal for me as I lock bags while riding anyway. A habit I got into after a buddy's came open on a trip. Don't think he lost anything but when you hit a big bump or in his case go over a rough bridge connection it could happen. Sometimes its these little things you learn from others that makes for smooth touring trips.
