Default 32 MPG on 09 Ultra?

Is this the best I can expect for around town riding? I got 43 on the highway on my only trip of any distance and I'm fine with that. So I guess I'm just curious what others are getting. The bike's just barely broken-in, a month old and 800 miles, and I'm hoping for just a bit more after I switch to syn oil today? Thanks.

When I got my 2008 Ultra this past April, I got about what you just did. With mileage, you'll see the miles per gallon increasing. I have over 13000 miles now and get about 38-42 in town and 46-51 on highway.

Happy Riding,
Mack

I've got just under 400 mi on my 09 UC and I got 34 on the second tank. That's entirely commuting to work 25 miles each way, with about 7 miles of small town streets and the remainder open two and four lane highway. I expect to see an increase as it breaks in. I got a very consistent 41 mpg on my 96 Stage II UC driving the same route.

Mileage will improve up to about 3K. But if you like to take off fast it wont get much better. I found that I lost a few MPG's when I got my pipes. Not due to tuning, but due to liking the noise. Pay to play I guess.

I agree with the rest -- that seems pretty typical. I'm getting 32-35 around town on my '08. 45 mpg or so on highway at 75-80. Best has been 52 mpg at 65 in 6th.
