I don't have a garage. I have a shed that the door is not wide enough to get the bike in, so I'm trying to fix that. It only has a concrete floor, and no heat. I will ride most of the winter months, with some of Jan/Feb being too bad to ride. The winters are mild in New Mexico, but lots of wind and rain in the winter, very little snow.
What are the best things for me to do based on the fact my bike will be outside most of the time? Good honest opinions are needed. I'm mainly worried about rust at the end of the exhaust and things I can't see underneath. thanks.
Dude You should have some kind of cover over your bike. those nilon covers with heat shields in the right places worked ok for me when I didn't have a garage and I live where it's wet in the Pacific N West. wipe yer bike down while letting it cool and then cover it up. during the wet season when your not riding hit your pipes with a light oil and then wipe it down when your gettin ready to ride.
it's a wee bit o work but you'll be fightin the rust and keeping your scoot in good riding shape. I put a trouble light in under the chasis on the really cold nights. you be suprised what a 60 watt light can do to keep the cold out.
thanks for the tips. I do have a good cover I use, but those are some good tips on the rust problem. the cycle shell is pretty cool, I didn't know about it. Will look into that if the shed Idea goes south.

Those little plastic things that look good on the photo would be fine until the wind starts blowing. I live in a valley where the wind in the wintertime blows so hard I've seen metal out buildings get destroyed in one day. My neighbor spent a day or two putting one up and then a little front came through and all he had left was scrap aluminum. Work on the door.
