I ride that same way quite often on my RG when I'm on long rides or road trips.

Well Harley could get off their dead *** and put that V-Rod motor into a sport touring bike and have it rival the competition easy. It's the perfect engine for this class of motorcycle. It really has no home in a cruiser or a full on sport bike, yet the power delivery is perfect for sport touring. Have a good look at Motus and see what a sport touring bike and it's ergonomics really are. Check out Motus Motorcycles Here Other examples of what the OP is referring to are like Honda ST's, Kawasaki Concours, Yamaha FJR's. I am not bashing HD in anyway other than expressing my disappointment in a company that is stuck on being old and ancient instead of keeping that old and ancient with some modern product to rope in new customers.

I'll buy one, love the v-rod but I want to see a bigger engine, something like 1800cc water cooler will be fun to ride, like the Suzuki m109r.

I sold my FJR to buy my Limited, but if HD came out with a VRod powered Sport-Tourer I be first in line and back to having three bikes in the garage

The V-Rod engine will not work...bad MPG, tooo heavy, not enougn HP. Frame and forks not up to the task. In other works there would be no sport. I love them but they are a cruiser.
If they started from the ground up with the frame they could probably do something with the 120 engine if they could cool it down. That is still going to be to heavy and will never really have ground clearance for sport riding. It's really a hard category for HD to play in.

Just my opinion, but the Switchback is pretty close to the T-sport.
