Take a look at West Coast Shoe Co. in Sacappose OR. I have a pair of their Boss motorcycle boots and a pair of their Western Boss boots. I had the Boss motorcycle boots lined with Kevlar. Great Boots, but a little pricey. You can have them custom fit to your foot, or check out the seconds on sale at the web site.
i have the same thing except in tan. issued by my uncle (sam) so price was not a problem
the danners have a 1 piece inner goretex lining. nowhere for the cold air to get in. and waterproof to boot (hehehe, wasn't meant to be a pun)
The tan Acadia's dont have the same outsole. I have two pair of the tan desert Acadia's one pair I just got last week 10" Fort Lewis Tan Acadia 400G Thinsulate Gore-Tex for the Winter....and I have a pair for warm weather uninsulated 8". I use them for riding also, but like the SRF better. BTW ALL made in the USA!.
Been wearing CruiserWorks for about 10 yeasrs now. Wear in all types of weather, never once have they allowed my feet to get wet. Have ridden in 10+ hours of rain non stop and still kept me dry.
Yea I saw the cruiserwork boots at a vender at Biketoberfest this fall. My buddy bought a pair. If I had not just bought a pair of Chippewas this spring I would have gotten a pair. Worth looking in to.
Riding in Colorado at 20 degrees with rain and snow my USMC cold weather boots have yet to disappoint. I'm sure you could find some on line or at a surplus store.
Maybe I've just worn the sunglasses and drank the Kool Aide, but I've bought a bunch of boots, because I have some pretty serious leg and foot issues... bottom line I've never, never gone wrong with HD boots. They don't make them, but they do make sure they work... I don't need steel toe for the bike, I do need good support and great soles...
