Default How Often Do You Change Oil?
I know this has probably been beaten to death, but how often do you guys change the oil? I have an '04 Ultra Classic and I've changed the oil every 3K since I bought it from a guy. I have 25K miles on it. Any suggestions? Is an every 3k oil change necessary? I use HD Synthetic. Thanks.

With synthetic I change oil at 5k. I also use a better oil than the HD synthetic. I change the tranny synthetic at 10k

I use Mobil 1 15w-50 synthetic. I run 5k on the oil and change out the filter every2500 miles. Change the primary and tranny every 10K or at the end of the season. I usually average 10k miles a season.

I use AMZOIL in my RKC and change all the oils every 5K. Better safe than sorry, use the best stuff you can afford and change is regularly will save a lot of $$'s in the end.

I change all three every 3000 miles. I just turned 24000 miles this month no issues so far.

You are right..............it's been beat to death countless times! Why not just do a search?

Actually I did, but apparently I didn't use the proper Boolean terms. Or I don't know how to use the newer forum.

Every 3K for me. IMO I think the use the search posts has been beaten to death. Almost all questions have been asked on this forum, so if everyone just did a search, this site would be pretty lame.

My brother recently bought a Honda 1300 VTX and the dealer told him every 8,000 miles on regular oil, not synthetic.

I change mine usually twice a year, once after 3K then at the end of the season.
