Has anyone installed a Strebel Nautilus (Air Cannon) horn on an E. Glide Classic (2005)? Where & how? I can handle the wiring & installation mods, just lookin' for mounting location options aside from the existing horn location.
Thanks,
Gregm
Not too many places to hide this big sucker. You may have more options if you remove the cover, or buy the Harley version (at twice the price, but looks nice) without the cover.
I mounted one inside the fairing of my old Ultra. Wasn't quite as loud as the stock horn position, but it still made deer jump if I was close enough.
Have you considered the Mini-beast air horn? I've heard good things about them, and they mount pretty easily according to those that have them. There's a tread here somewhere with kudus about how pleased the owners are with them. Just a thought.
I was thinking of using that in place of the Kury behind the sadlle bags horns. Just use the Kury brackets. Then mount the air compressor in front of the rear wheel, on top of the swingarm. If you look theres alot of room there.
But I wanted to know if the air horn was louder than the Kury unit?
Thats just a thought...
There was an interesting article in American Rider magazine about Trumpet Air Horns from Les Brown at MetalArts Inc. This horn loks cool and has the compressor built in. http://www.metalartsinc.com
Check it out.
I use the http://www.wolo-mfg.com/air.htm Wolo Model 519 Bad Boy Dual Air Horn. $70 from JC Whitney. (I still need to dress up the wiring this winter.)

+1 on the mini-beast. Easy to install and very loud.
