If you go with Wild1 518's get wiring extension and +4 on Throttle and clutch. Just did mine worked much better.

100 % fit the only thing you have to do is let the cable connectors in the headlight hang free. No big deal. It's the best change you can make.

Thanks for the help guys! I am 6'1" so I need some bars that come up and back a little more. The factory bars sit too low for my taste so away they must go!

I swapped my stockers out last weekend with the Heritage bars-on an '06 so it should be the same. If I were to do it today I could swap them in under an hour, but the first time figuring out how to get to the bar clamps took me a little longer. No cable changes or brake line 'fudging' needed. I give props to HD on the switch housing 'clamping' over the left side grip so I didn't have to screw around with glue.
I'm 5'8'' so to me they almost feel like mini apes and they took 50 to 100 miles to get used to them, but they are worlds better than stock.
Good luck

Piece of cake. NO wire changes. Heritage bars are cheap too at $40-$50.

Well I did it all by myself! I got a call from a buddy on Friday telling me that everything at Full Boar was 50% off so I hauled a$$ up there and bought Heritage bars, Chrome accessories, grips, chrome brake and clutch leavers, leathers, tool kit, battery tender, and a new Vega summit II helment for half off. I installed all the chrome pieces and handlebars yesterday with the help of a Clymers manual and I am happy with the results. I also had to come in the house a couple of times and access this site for help so thanks to all you guys that didn't know I was tapping your brains at the time. Here is some before and after pics.

Good for you. Doing it yourself probably still left money in your pocket, even with all the accessories you bought! I bet you now can't fathom spending about $600 in labor alone for a shop to have done the swap!

Hey RK Ivan what length extension did you use? I`am going to put some 518 on my RK and don`t want to leave things just hanging.
