My bottle of Vivid Black touch up paint was running low so I went to my local dealer to get another bottle. I use it for more than just touching up small chips on my bike. Anyway, the single bottle that was $7.65 is now obsolete. It has been replaced with a set of two bottles, one paint and one clearcoat, for $22!!!!! At that rate the "no extra charge" Vivid Black paint job should cost about a million dollars. I seldom gripe about the price on something I want but this is ridiculous. It just never ends!
Nice... Well i think you can actually get that in a two bottle set that contains both black instead of a black and a clear.. or at least we have them at the plant...

But if you just apply the black without the clearcoat on top, will Harley void our motor warranty??

You know if you think about it you could have bought a bike of a different color (extra charge of course) than you could still buy the paint for what ever else you use it for then the price hike would be of no concern at all.
You are REAL lucky it's Black. Any other color is "No longer available" and of course, there is NO way you can get a color code from them to get some paint colors or have it mixed someplace else.
This is ONE major gripe I have about HD. Paint and their apathetic attitude towards their customers when it comes to repairing chips, scrapes and other abnormalities in the paint.
It seems HD just doesn't care.
