I had the Adjure flush axle.
Looked great but be forewarned it is a BITCH to get the cap that is pulled into the fork off the lower fork itself if/when you go to remove the whole thing from your bike. I wouldn't do it again if you bought and gave me a flush mount axle. If your buddy realizes he just can't live without one and doesn't have chrome lowers but he may even remotely be thinking he wants them, tell him to do the chrome lowers at the same time he installs the flush axle or he's gonna commit suicide if he tries to get the cap out of the stock lowers when he does go to chrome lowers.
Had the Adjure for about 2 weeks this spring. Install was a bitch, wheel install was a real scarey bitch. Felt like I was cross threading the thing because it was so tight. Forget trying to put a torque wrench on it for HD specs. My axle wasn't even close to being seated when it clicked the torque wrench off. Then, when I found I had a slow leak at the stem, and I had to take the wheel of again, the flush cap just spun in the fork. Yeah, I loaded the threads up with anti-seize. But when you have to over torque it to get the axle in, it's going to stick in the cap. We had to beat it out of there an into the garbage it went. Nice $100 into the trash. But axle caps for a lot less and you won't have to worry about it.
