I changed to the chrome front end on the 09 UC, put the SE oil in the forks and took it for a short test ride. The front end is extreemly stiff vs before fork change, I put everything back together the way it came out just wondering if teh SE oil mkes that much of a difference? Should I take it apart and recheck everything or just change back to the stock oil? The manual mentioned the oil I needed to use but read the SE would firm the ride a little, wondering if there was any changes to the baffel/dampers on the 09 vs prior years?
I would ride it a while before taking it back apart. A lot of times they soften some. Then, if it is still too firm, I would consider changing to either going to a lighter oil or check to see if you might can lake some out. You might have put too much in. Not saying you did.
Just a thought
Jim
There are two SE fork oils, a heavy duty and a race oil. The race oil is considered to be a bit too stiff for street use. You may want to check the bottle to see which you used.
I was thinking of using the SE fork oil but the dealer said I probably would think the ride was to stiff. I'd also be interested in hearing from those who have made the change.
