Default Storage on Lift?

I have a bike jack but I'm afraid if I store my cycle on it all winter, with the wheels off the ground and the forks extended, the seals will start leaking. Anybody have any experiences, good or bad using a jack for extended periods?

this question is asked every year here!!!!! But, me personally, I store my bike on a lift/dolly every winter. And, have not had any problems. From what I was told when this tread was started a few yrs ago, when the bike is off the ground, the forks/springs are "at rest"; therefore, no issues with leaking.........just my .02 I've used for a few yrs now....hope this helps......

When I lived in Chicago, I stored mine on the lift. No issues.
Now I store it on the ground, and just over night. As I ride every day here in Las Vegas!!

I always keep my bike on the lift when it's in the garage. No problems here.

I have a lift, but I'm not a fan of placing unsprung weight on a frame long term.

Having served in the military, I've had to leave my motorcycle for extended periods of time while on deployments. I've stored it both ways, on and off a lift, and have never had any problems with with anything.

If the stand scares you (tip or fall) you can take a pair of 6X6's x 13-16" and add a 2x4" also 13-16" on the 6x6's..
slide them under the frame and your bike should be plenty off the ground
