Has anybody used the touring muffler shield kits> HD item # 65829-00. I have a 2007 Ultra with Supertrapp SE Slip ons and is showing a nice shade of gold at the point where it slips on. Right below the passenger footrest. The shock exhaust shield stops short by about 1 and a half inch. Now, I know it's not the end of the world, but was wondering if this would cover that spot or if anybody has any other good suggestions. I thought about a small exhaust shield and cutting it to fit, but I worry about the chrome peeling and rusting. Anyway, let me know. Thanks in advance. Ride Free Steve
A proper tune on a good set of mufflers and you won't see any yellowing. Anyhow, since you have yellowing mufflers, go ahead and throw a set on. I haven't personally used them, but have seen some scoots with them on and it didn't look too bad.
Hey Doug, since you have them on . Would you have the dimensions of the shield kit? I am pretty sure they would match up fine, but my dealer did not have any in stock. If you get a chance, not a big deal, but that would be great. Anyway thanks for your help.

No, I don't have the dimensions at hand but they are made to work with your standard touring mufflers. They start from the last shield on the header pipe and go back to the rear end of the muffler bracket with a cut out for the muffler bracket. The end of the shield is about even with the end of the muffler where my interchangable tips attach. The cover somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 the circumference of the muffler. Hope that helps.
I have a pair I got from my buddies screaming eagle stock pipe setup.. I powdercoated them black and they look awesome..!! And yes they cober and slip under the edge of the stock heat shields..
