Just a quick word to say to anyone considering the HD 103 that it does wake the bike up considerably. I rode back up into the mountains to home from Folsom HD today which is in the valley. The feeling in the seat of increase in torque is substantial for a small increase in cubic inches, must be the cams working. I think I am really going to like the 255 cams, they turned my bike into a fast tractor. The throttle is much more responsive, the ThunderHeader became very LOUD, and passing cars on the slab going up hill is quick and easy. To be honest I have never ridden any other built HD's so I dont have anything to compare to, but I didnt expect this much increase in performance so I am very happy with the up grade. This thing is a freaking blast to ride. A tip for those who are like me and which is not a motor head, use adjustable push rods so if you want to try different cams down the road, its easier and cheaper to do. But I think I will probably stick with these cams.
Sounds great, my service rep wants me to do this to my bike too.
He actually wants to do it to his bike. But if I want an upgrade he recomends the 103.
Hoffy, I've been thinking of a Stage II Big Bore kit. Can you tell me how much your dealer charged you for labor, and did they do a full dyno tune/SERT/etc?

I received an email from Folsom Hd for a special, $1690.00 for 1690 cc, the 103 kit, 255 cams, and download, not dyno. I spent about $124.00 more for adjustable push-rods. If you need a race tuner its extra. I already had the pro-tuner. So it cost about 1,000 for parts after tax, and 1,000 for labor. $300.00 over the 1690, some in tax, the rest in push-rods. I was told not to dyno it until after 500 miles but unless I get the Tim Allen syndrome I wont dyno it, its plenty fast and runs very smooth.
Last summer several HDF members who are old school stated in previuos threads to wait untill winter because dealers come out with specials. They were right. Folsom also has a 110 special for 2800.00 that includes heads Reno HD is having a grand opening of their high performance shop and have specials for their high compression super builds for about 3500.00
Going to pick my bike up tonight from my indy.I had a stock 88,but not anymore. He put 96 jugs, bored to 98 ci.Leaveing room for 103 in the future. It's putting out 97 hp over 69 stock and 107 lb tq over 70 lb tq stock. Head work,S&S 510 cam, adj. push rods, and gear drive. The smile should go away in about two weeks.
Can they do the download without the SE pro tuner? Like the police bike map? Trying to stay away from tuners as I dont have any good ones in the area and am pretty concerned with MPG.
