ok, ok i know i'm a "prima don" but, the ultra has too much stuff i really don't need, plus $4K more than the EGS...i like the SG but trying to justify the extra $2k over the EGS, yeah i know lowered, white gauges, nicer read end, floorboards, etc, but the big cost seems to be the radio $1k...wtf?...if i go with the EGS any recommendations for a radio setup?...i looked on ebay and they're at least half the price...does the EGS have all the wiring already in place?...it looks like it does

You know in the end only you can decide. Think about this just for jokes. What kind of riding are you going to do? A lot of my riding is commuting, but I get to carry a lot of stuff-- computer, notes, books, files, etc. I thought the saddlebags would be enough, they weren't. Getting leather soaked with a computer bugged me, so I went to hard bags. Hard bags did not hold as much as soft bags so I went to a tour pak. Bike looked weird with a tour pak, hard bags and no fairing, so I went to a fairing. I love the "naked" look of the FLHRC, but the funtion of my Ultra Road King is incredible and frankly if I want to run it like an FLHRC it will take me about 1/2 hour to switch things back. Now here's the kicker... I do get some couple of day trips with my wife, and frankly it just would not be as comfortable on the stripped FLHRC. So, if you don't plan to do any longer rides and if you don't need to carry a lot of junk and if you really like the Standard... go buy it and take the pain away. Enjoy!
