Tops of the saddlebags get the most. I've had black cars also and there is nothing like a freshly cleaned black vehicle. It just takes a little more time but worth it IMO. I've went with a vivid black SG and would do it again if I had too. I don't care what color you have if you want it to look good you gotta clean it. If not, just ride it! You guys using the California duster, what is that? Do you use it dry and does it scratch at all?
I had one black vehicle and swore I never get anything else black.
Same here, always wanted a black truck..BIG MISTAKE..took a 5K dollar bath trading it in for a silver truck. Silver's nice cuz when your lazy like me, it looks clean all the time.
Even my riding buddies say my bike is so clean and shiney, then I write my name in the dirt on the fenders[sm=icon_blah.gif]
Maybe those oldtimers who used to wax their bikes with Pledge had the right idea Pledge claims to keep the dust from sticking to your furniture so maybe it does the same to the bike? Hmmmm I wonder?
Mine SG is black pearl and is a dust magnet but you have to look very carefully to see it, the collor is very similar to dust i guess and thats why a choose black pearl, it forgive dust and dirt quit well.
I would dump the duster. Alot of those type things marketed to dust furniture are treated will stuff to hold dust on them and actually lays down some of that on whatever you are dusting....hence it attracts dust.
I believe you would be better off with a feather duster..try Buffalo Mikes. FK1 actually makes a QD that is anti-static and that helps a lot too.
I like black and carry a micro-fiber cloth with me for the end of the ride. 10 minutes of work and it's beautiful black again. A little bug spray if there's some crud on the fairing. Not much work to make the saddlebags shine so I can see my smile!
I have a 06 EG, Black. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose BLACK again. All colors collect the same dirt and bug guts. Black or any dark color just shows up more. Choose White if you want the least amount of Show. {same amount of dirt and bug guts, just Less show}. As far as I am personally concerned, Harley only makes ONE color and that is BLACK,That's Vivid BLACK. I clean after every ride, and that Traditional
Black is worth the effort. If you want to Dance you have to Pay the Fiddler...........hdman
I agree, real motorcycles are black, thats what I always tell my dealer, and with a black bike you don't have to worry about what color shirt, jacket to wear that won't clash with the bike, with a black bike anything goes.. plus they seem to be faster
