I have a 2009 road glide.I want to lower it,and want to know how much difference the ride would be if i used a lowering kit.(rear)Also has anyone tried changing the stock handlebars (throttle by wire)How much of a job was it?
Go to SoLow Motorcycles and give them a call. I've got their lowering kit on my Roadglide and have had for over 3 years with no problems. The ride is much better than the HD Low Profile Shocks. Can't help you on the handlebar question.

I had lowering hardware on my 06 RG and the air shock blew a seal. I'm not sure if it was because of the lowering kit. I replaced the stock air shocks with a set of Progressive 440s Heavy Duty shocks. There was a small sheet with the shocks that warned against using them with lowering hardware. Might be something to that.

try a REACH seat first... lowering the bike will cut down the suspension a bit.. and if you lower one end you'll need to lower the other..... seat will be cheaper, faster, and..... most dealers will allow you to try it on , on YOUR bike...
