Just was wondering...is it typical for the exhaust temp. on my '08 S/G to be so hot that the pipe is glowing red?
Just put on a fuel pack and was tinkering around on my S/G, had it running for a while when I noticed that the pipes underneath the heat shields were getting red hot!!! Is this normal?
Does this mean I'm running too lean? I never noticed this before the fuel pack but then again I never really looked.
Any advice or comments.
Thanks.

Talked to V&H today and they said it was normal.
Really find that tough to believe. Going to hook up stock ecm and see if they still glow red. It should right? By rights this should create an even leaner condition.
Has anyone cared enough about what the Fuelpak does to see whether it modifies anything closed-loop or not? If it doesn't, there should be no difference. If it does and/or you've got different breathing parts installed, who can say what'll happen. I know mine get a slight orange tinge to them in the evening, sometimes.
