Default Air Cleaner Question

My entire exhaust system is stock. However, I hate the cheap, ugly black plastic back plate. Can I use, say, a chrome Screamin' Eagle backplate and maintain the stock air filter and cover?

I wouldn't do that. It would necessitate an EFI remapping.

You can remove the football and after taking off the black "rubber" re-install it for a somewhat cleaner look. That is if doing so doesn't effectively "open up" the airbox (which would call for an EFI remapping).

I think you would be okay to do it without remapping, as long as that's your only mod. If you change your pipes later on, then you will definitely need to remap.

You can put a aftermarket a/c on without worry with the 2007 setup. You can use Ness big sucker, Doherty, JET performance. The last 2 has a built in velocity stack, which is good for futer mods. Once you go from there you will need to get some kind of fuel management.

There ain't no way that's true. Breathing changes on either end really should be EFI-tuned, but reasonable mufflers are somewhat "get-by-with-able" without it. The intake changes, especially if they indeed free up the breathing, definitely alter the VE values from what's in the ECU, and that primarily in areas where the mixture ain't even "closed-loop correctable".
