Was with the local chapter, but due to personal problems, resigned a few months ago. Granted the leadership and I didn't see eye to eye, but that was last year, and a new years is close and thought I had renewed the wife and mine membership last Sunday. Got a call today from the GM and was told that the powers to be felt that I need to cool off for a year before I can renew my membership, the wife didn't have to wait. Well I guess the writing is on the wall, if you don't rock the boat and agree all the time to everything that is shoved down your throat, then you are what they want, another "good Ole boy" . Well this NATIVE AMERICAN don't play that game, and I never will be a "good Ole boy". So I guess that leaves me and my wife better off without the biggots. Just for grins how many non-whites are HOG chapter members?

I am a National and Local Chapter Member, I cannot make all meetings and Rides with My Work Schedule, I do not see anything real exciting about it but will see how it goes.
Got the National Membership when I bought the Bike and decided to Join the Local Chapter.

"If you can't say anything good ............" Last time I looked it was still the U.S. that I live in, was born on, and was raised, and I thought there was freedom of speech. Guess they don't have that in Herculaneum, Mo, lol. Glad we have it here.

Interesting POLL thus far. I would have thought that a much higher percentage would have been affiliated with a local H.O.G. Chapter. Roughly only 1/3 of us are Chapter Members:

I am not a National H.O.G. Member 19.53%

I am a National Member of H.O.G. only 39.84%

I am a National Member and a local CHAPTER Member 33.59%

I was a local Chapter Member but quit 3.13%

I intend to become a local Chapter Member 3.91%

We got a great Local, Hampton Roads HOG, a great sponsor, Mary Hughes and a great bunch of folks over 1000 strong. Not only do we enjoy the events we are very involved in giving in the community especially Toys for gtots and MD.

Casper, you're joking about that 50+ miles ... right?

Me. New bike. Free membership. For sure I'm going to give it try. I want to join the chapter out of the dealership I bought the bike at. It's about 130 miles away. So making all the week night meetings won't be possible. If that turns out to be a problem, well I'll find out. I'm joining there anyway. They have a great dealership. Read somewhere that a member can belong to multiple chapters. So I join a local one to. Mainly because a friend at work is a Road Captain there. I figure the chapter stuff will work itself out for wifey and I.

H.O.G looks like a decent way to meet people. Do some rides. Have some good times. Sure people organizing into groups always end up developing some level of political issues. We'll see how it goes.

However there is one thing I don't want. And that is to be involved in a club that thinks they are some type of motorcycle gang. I grew up with Satan's Choice, Outlaws, and later Hell's Angels in my home town. Even though some were good friends, there's no way I want to be seen as "poser". I'll wear the patch. But no colours hailing my local chapter will ever be on my back. Displaying colours is a serious statement with a long bloody history. I don't idiolize that gangs ... definately respect them. That means not imitating their ways.

Sorry for the drift. Didn't mean to write all that. Still not erasing it now.

Rob
