tore the front end off the roadglide yesterday to do the chrome forks, progressive springs, 6 piston caliper, new wheel, etc. took me a couple hours working slow but it wasn't bad at all so far. the only thing I am nervous about is getting the ignition switch back together when I button it up. work got suspended yesterday when I had to run an unexpected errand.
a buddy is coming over today to help me take the forks apart and swap over the chromed lowers. neither he nor I have ever taken a set of forks apart, but I have the manual and a couple how-to write-ups from here and another place... I know its not rocket science, but I need to see how something works before I feel comfortable with it. Hopefully I won't end up dragging a box of parts to my dealer with my tail between my legs...

that's cool... my wife rides a sportster 1200C, I keep trying to convince her to move up to a lowrider or deluxe, but she is resisting and I don't want to push too hard. I'll have her sit on all of them at the DC bike show (again) and see if she likes anything better than her current ride... although she got laid off in Nov due to economy and is currently looking for another job, so it may be a while before she could move to anything else anyway, and at least her sportster is paid for.
