I am seeing a few 07s in the 15000 range with fairly low miles (under 10K) but very few. I bought an 08 with 8k for 16 two months ago and have been keeping a eye out for better deals, so far I still feel good about my purchase

Funny this should finally come up. Most folks who are selling their steeds NEED to sell them. Those asking price ARE inflated...not a seller's market at present.
Been reading the inputs re 2006 vs later model years. The street Glide is one of those "gotta have" for many...I know. I kept my Deuce but decided I wanted a bagger 2! Got an 06 FLHXI. Am I sorry I didn't bargain for an 07 or later? NO! Or did I want to make the distinction between the 07 thru 08s for the so-called new and improved 09s. How about the 2010s or the SVOs. It's a game and the MOCO is playing the buyer like a fiddle. It depends on YOUR tastes AND your pocketbook.

As for the asking prices on the auctions and craigslist, very few, if any, of the bikes are actually selling for those unrealistically high prices. Those owners are stuck with bikes they can't sell since the market is completely flooded with used bikes right now. The only ones that seem to sell consistently are the ones that are pretty much factory stock with extremely low miles.

Got my 06 for 15,900 cash couple weeks ago the way it sits. Fuel injected, 6500 miles, Rinehart true duals, RC components wheels front & rear & stage 1 kit. 2006 thru 2010 are all the same bikes to me.

I have a buddy that just picked up a 07 from the local shop with 1500 original miles bone stock for 12 grand if that helps you feel any better about price

I'll say this, asking and actual selling prices are two different things!

Hot bikes will hold value - saw three SG's sell at the local HD-ship a few weeks back. Glad to see my investment strategy pay-off b/c my stocks sure didn't...

Last summer I wanted so bad an 02 RK for sale in my neighborhood. Probably had every option in HD's catalog. But the guy wouldn't budge off $14K. At the end of the riding season he still had it.

I like your comments about 06 07 08 09 10's. I'm just glad I finally got one last year

I'd go with at least an '07 unless you don't care about resale.

I tend to disagree. I know alot of riders, like myself, that will not get anything newer than a 2006. My 06 FLHX does not have the throttle by wire, O2 sensors, Catylitic Comnverter, etc etc etc. Newer is not always better.

The EPA and Feds are ruining the motorcycle industry just like they killed the muscle cars. Pretty soon the only way to meet the EPA regs will be with a water cooled engine. Sorry - I am not buying into this crap.
