I just got a great deal from a dealer last month because o fthe snow up here. I picked up a 09 Street glide with Bub's slip ons and the stage one air cleaner and download in Vivid Black with 6500 miles for 16K. The dealer was dealing because the 10's were coming out and there was snow on the floor.

The 07 - 09 bikes, especially the touring models, are some awesome bikes. Are they better than previous models? Ehhhhh ... that depends on what someone considers better.

I've got an 07 Night Train and a 99 FLHT. They are both great bikes but the 6 speed, TC96, and host of other improvements really make a difference.

That said; I really like my 99 because I've customized it, made it mine, and it has a bunch of cool stuff like suspension improvements that make it, IMHO, much better than a 09 or 10.

For less than a grand anyone can make their pre-09 better than an 09 or later. It's not hard to do.

A brace like a Progressive Touring link to firm up the back end, a decent set of shocks which is needed on a new bike too, and some improvement to the forks like the Ricor Intiminators will do it.

Those few things will transform any HD but especially the Touring models.

I'm so impressed with the Intimidators I'm also putting them in my Night Train. Good product. Good discount going on right now too.

I would probably go with the Ricor shocks now after going through a bit of back and forth with the Ohlins. They are both rebuidable. Good thing to know if you plan on keeping the bike and even if you don't they can be transferred to the next bike.
