So......26k miles on '03 FLHT, looks like the front mount has some tears. I purchased a new one from the dealer. Looked into the shop manual, but does not really give any details. So, I did a search on several HD forums, not many details or specifics. Maybe wrong search criteria......
I removed the voltage regulator, removed the 2 mounting screws, removed the main mounting screws and placed a scissor jack under the motor. Jacked up the motor until it did not move up any longer. Did not have enough space to remove the old mount. Almost looks like I have to remove the bracket attached to the motor......but, no clean access to those 2 nuts -- can't get socket into the space.
Also changed front motor mount, and had to remove part of bracket to do so. Questioned motor alignment after since bracket mounts have such slop in hole to bolt relationship. Just keep as close as you could to original positions and do not adjust the turn buckle if yours has one.
