When I bought my first bike that had the heel shifter I thought I'd remove it very soon. I started using it and found it so natural that I left it on and now couldn't do without it.

Default Heel Toe

The Heel / Toe feature is one of the best ones about my glide. I really like the foot pad and if I keep it there is no room for my big boot to get under the front shifter.

Plus, using the heel shifter saves the wear on my toe

Plus, I find it way easier to hit the rear shifter

We like it so much, that we outfitted my wife's new Kawasaki Vulcan 900 touring ride with the footpad and heal toe shifter....she just loves it. And in true metric style, it shifts with just a slight touch. When I ride her bike, I can't tell often if I shifted compared to the "clunck" on the Ultra. I do love that clunck though!!!

I think Jim's comment says it the best. Gotta try it for awhile before deciding either way.

THANKS ALL!

I have a short ride (8 miles) to work, and often just wear the standard uniform; khaki pants, polo shirt, and regular shoes. The heel shifter lets me not have to worry about scuffing the tops of my work shoes.

I have size 14 feet, and find the Kuryakyn EZ shift levers to be a must. They allow me plenty of room on the floorboards, and work fine the the lowers on. They are one of the first things I put on my new bile.

Heel & Toe shifters is the only way to go. I'd never go back.
