Default Heel Toe Shifter

Love the heel toe shifter. Never had a problem with it. Only size 8.5 shoes here

But for now I'm Thinking Toe only
Do you lift your entire foot off the floorboard when you use the heel shifter? If so, that may be the cause of your knee problem.

I simply raise my heel a couple of inches and then give a sudden push/stomp down with my heel to shift. I usually stomp it pretty hard. Never had a problem yet with my knee or the shifter.

I just loft my heel and shift, don't even stomp most of the time.

Both, nothing better than jamming up the gears with just the tap of your heel.

Same here. Why screw up the toe of a good boot when all you have to do is rest your heel lightly on the rear one and let it go down from gravity?

I only have a toe shifter in my Goldwing, and it works fine due to the short travel to shift. My UCs a different animal; the shifter travels a LOT farther for each shift making for quite different ergonomics. I very much like having the option to use my heel when I feel like it, which is frequently.

Get HD pn 33876-07 and you can keep the "heal" shifter AND have the extra space on the floorboard.

I've noticed that too. I wonder how much all the shifter linkage failures are related to stomping down on that rear shifter.
