Toe only. Heel shifter always got in the way with boots on.

Heel/Toe: At first I hated having the two shift levers. But, I am a soldier and routinely ride my bike to work. The two shift levers allow me to keep the top of my tan boots still looking pretty sharp. I am a fan now.

I love the heel shifter. I rented an Ultra in FL and the floorboards were adjusted up so high I could NOT get my toe under the shifter. Thankfully, I was already used to the heel shifter. I know I could have adjusted the floorboards, but didn't need to.

Heel/toe as I can't get the boot under the toe & I don't want to adjust the toe with seasons and smaller boots. I suggest a spare heel in the bag though. After 1k miles my heel fell off on a 4-lane, there was nothing to shift. Doubled back to pick up the now beat up arm. New one via warranty but will carry the 2nd in the bag.

I guess they didn't use lock tight...

Stuck with the Heel & Toe on my FLHTC despite being a toe shifter for years. The transition was easy.

Use both. Took a little while to get used to it but I seem to be using it more and more all the time.Does save the top of the boots for sure.
